This is the longest sustained first person discourse from god to anybody, anywhere in the bible. Job's friends have been going on for 30 chapters here. This is beautiful. Where wast thou when i laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding, who hath laid the measures thereof and whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? And it largely goes on in that vain.
