He accused them of claiming a plenipotentiary in all power upon Earth like the Pope and Puritan ministers in Scotland. The Commons responded, protesting their innocence, that they'd merely wanted to put some ideas and information before the King. And also made the point about free speech again. Well, more blue-touch paper had duly been ignited.
