The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings
My favorite poem in the whole trilogy is the Barrowites poem. It's very vivid and downbeat. He has an incredible ear. This is one of the things that really differentiated, C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien as poets. And I think a lot of people don't realize how the sound is contributing to their joy in reading The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.
