If they're on a bazillion I would send them home on a moxacillin. If you think of my sin to cover MRSA, you could switch them to klendomythicin or trimethoprim sulfomethoxazole. With oral cephalosporins you do lose some pneumococcal coverage with switching from ceftriaxone to seftinear it's probably not a huge amount. There was one study showing that potentially courses of treatment as short as three days could be adequate.
