In total, Lewis tracked down 30 numbers stations. He published a book that laid out detailed satellite imagery of where they were broadcast from. Some have historically had close relationships to British intelligence agencies. Today, there are at least 20 or 30 numbers stations still broadcasting but it seems they're becoming less common.
