The Cost of Determinism in Computer Science

All of the energy that goes into our computers goes into making them deterministic. We have an extremely complicated machine with an incredible amount of moving parts. But we have to understand the brain more in terms of self-organization than comparing it to a von Neumann machine. The world that we are controlling can only be understood to a certain degree.
