The Relationship Between PSC and Ulcerative Colitis

My son in Scotland had PSC, but thankfully received a new liver last year. Now he's been diagnosed with UC and I know the two diseases are linked. What I want to know is why he's got UC a year after the new liver. Is the PSC still there? The question from Colleen in Deep River.
