Is There a Chance to Mourn Childhood?
I think that entering middle school can feel like a death, in a way, because you're forced to say a sudden, permanent good bye to childhood. I saw that with one of my daughters, definitely. In her case, let's say around middle school, all the other girls in her class went in a certain direction rit of what it meant to be desirable and popular. And i think also, maybe in a home where there's, again, a kind of critical eye on the most instreme ways of being, that, i think there's less to mourn,. You don't have to give up, sort of being who you were, that's said.
