The Babylonian Exile

King Nebuchadnezzar was captured by the Chaldeans and taken to Babylon. King Zedekiah's sons were killed in front of his eyes before he could see them. The captain of the bodyguard, a servant of the king of Babylon, burned down every great house that had belonged to him. He left some of the poorest of the land to be vine-dressers in Plowman. And the pillars of bronze that were in the house of the Lord,  the stands and the bronze sea which Solomon had made for the house ofThe Lord, they broke in pieces and took away as gold or silver.
