The Story of Quants
Until his retirement a few years ago, he ran a quant hedge fund called cantab capital. He kind of tells the story of quants in my eyes, somebody came into finance with a hard science background and has been surrounded by a i for quite some time. I remember coming across nuralnet in the early nineties at goldman. Somebody was wanting to license to goldman some sort of mural net system, which may or may not have forecasted the dollar mark exchange rate. That's ho old it was. It never really went anywhere.
