The Economic Outlook for 2022
Real GDP growth is tracking a pace of between 1% and 3% for the second half of 2022. Businesses are likely to cut back on hiring, inventories and capital spending. Consumer spending may also grow more slowly but pent-up consumer demand should offset this. The average unemployment rate so far this year is 3.5%.
