The Importance of Choosing an Icon

Bob Flanagan was the oldest living person to live with cystic fibrosis and he put a lot of himself into his art. I think it's important to find an icon or... I look at it as kind of a hero or a hero. Someone that you really want to build into your spiritual practice some of their attributes and incorporate them into yourself. That's part of what makes Sex very sacred is being able to worship not only the deities or icons, but also I worship myself. Because we aren't just a person. We're a person growing and developing and changing. And it's an amazing process.
