An ethnic identity, or a group identity can become attached to occupations. That seems to be something that happens with at least some groups of amorites. mercenary service, military service, seems to be one of the ways in which that occurs. And and warfare, and mercenary warfare, that it's like, oh, you want it? You want to have a war? Ok, there are some amorites who will fight for you.
