The Power of Pointing
Linguistic meaning is a special type. We know instinctively, or in some way, some inner voice is saying to us, that point has meaning. I get the impression that pointing is already a more sophisticated form of communication than what I always thought was the origin of language. And so I'm just expressing my emotional state. That seems to me to be a really powerful source of communication.
