Introduction
Plantagenet diplomats are heading to Paris to offer an alliance to King Louis VII. The hope is this alliance will bring peace between the two realms and settle a nagging border dispute. In Pride of Place ride someone who's going to play a pivotal role in the Plantagenet story. Thomas Beckett has been charged by Henry and Eleanor with offering up a marriage alliance to the French royal family as the price for peace. It's a deal that will join a Plantagenet Prince with a French princess. And for the Plantagenets such a deal could eventually unite the royal houses of England and France.
