Multi-spectral imaging means shining different wavelengths of light onto a manuscript and taking numerous photographs with a very special lens. Gregory has used this technology to restore everything from biblical gospels to maps from the 1400s. And what they discover often helps historians understand what the writers were thinking at the time.
