When banks grow quickly they tend to make a lot of bad decisions combined with the rapid growth. They borrow a lot from what's called the federal home loan bank system nobody knows anything about it. We can have these massive mega banks that exercise way too much influence over our regulatory policies but just as importantly we don't need to have all those loans sitting on bank balance sheets. Once we've made soft information hard we can standardize all of this, we can create layers of securitization vehicles. And so what you see is not just a shift from small banks to large banks but those large banks bring technology to the table and have a different business model which allows them to feed in to
