There's very few workers at the top who have what management theorists call intrinsic motivation right they actually love their work and would do it in any world. I think that you're seeing Google workers start to revolt because that third leg of that tripod is breaking down like high-end tech workers are getting upset about how the tech world is being run. The whole society is based on denying most people that kind of control over their lives, he says.
