Solar Thermal Is a Good Choice for the Clean Energy Transition

Solar thermal is being considered by many of its advocates as the technology that could place such an important role in the clean energy transition. The ability to manufacture PV panels in factories and then to install them in a very low-cost, low-labor-intensive way means that it has quite clearly won the cost race. In a world where PV and wind are ubiquitous, it actually ends up being that dispatchability that becomes a really valuable thing. And so as we're transitioning the grid and we're getting more PV and more wind, the requirement to have something that's dispatchable to complement those intermittent technologies is ever increasing.
