Linazelid and Serotonin Syndrome

Jason Pope: serotonin syndrome is so rare, even in patients that are taking multiple serotonergic agents. UPMC switched to Linazelid instead of Clinda and Vanko for NSTI because they were concerned about the drug interaction. The collateral benefit was that our continuous infusion fentanyl in the ICUs dropped precipitously like 70 to 10% as a result.
