In thinking about Uber, for example, or any of the other companies in this genre, Google, Amazon, etc., they have a financial interest in defining the drivers as contractors and not as employees. What does that mean for how we imagine what these companies are? Also, how we imagine whether or not they can be regulated? Call them a taxi company, and you suddenly change the conversation.
