The Hard Thing Rule
In the duckworth family, everyone has to do a hard thing. They were not allowed to quit their instrument because they didn't feel like practising for recital. For my daughters a, you know, piano for one a and the other awas, eventually no viola. And i think we don't have to give kids every choice, but like to give them some choice,. Because that autonomy is crucial for fostering passion.
