How to Write Emotional Scenes That Pull Their Weight
When I first started writing, these scenes were my least favorite to write. The single most important key to writing emotional scenes that truly pull their weight is verusimilitude. Poorly done conversion scenes are a great example of this. If readers remain unconvinced for their own sakes, they are likely to feel unconvinced on the characters behalf as well.
