"We can't use the bad parents, the small number, is an excuse not to engage with the good ones," he says. "It's a way to weaponize things like safe sport and get back at a coach personally for something that you, for some real or perceived slight of your child." In the UK, two-thirds of people are doing it entirely voluntarily - so how do you deal with this when someone's just doing it by giving their time? He adds: "I genuinely believe that coaching needs to professionalise... I don't mean professionalise as everyone needs to get paid"
