Are We 100% Sure These Aren't All Ducks?

A study by Gabriel George and his colleagues recorded sounds from 50 species of turtle. And it wasn't just turtles, they also recorded sounds in other animals that we didn't know were vocal. It suggests that vocal communication is really widespread among vertebrates. They think vocal communication evolved at least 400 million years ago in an ancestor of these animals.
