The Importance of Love in a Nation
The book is dedicated to my ex-boyfriend, the younger man that you just evoked because we had these continual fights and are still having them after eight years. The first major chapter in the book says, how do we define love? How can we know love in a culture where most of us don't have a sense of what it is? We sort of echo that idea that gender does make a difference in the way women look at love and men look at love. Most men feel they're not looking at love at all.
