Some of the people buried in such style at Lefkondi were almost certainly expatriates from the Levant who had moved permanently to Ubea. It's not a stretch to see how Phoenician merchants operating in Cyprus would have made their way further west into the Aegean. The important thing for us to note is that there were people moving along these routes and that they were certainly moving in both directions.
