Musicals Are Like Portals

i think a musical is kind of an inherently unreal type of story telling, just because of that thing where people kind of burst into song in the middle of a conversation. The best musicals are often ones where everybody joins in - even tho they may have just met a second ago. It's sort of like a fairy enchantment has overtaken everybody its or it's like a heightened version of reality. Ye, it reminds me of a couple of really recent t v shows like heart stopper and mis marvell where, like, as characters are talking, you kind of see cartony images appear ing in the frameor on the walls which add this kind of fairy tale quality to the whole scene
