The south china sea is terribly important in this regard. It's a body of water in between china via nam, indonesia and the philippines. There are islands there, the atley islands, that ch China has militarized to control those sea lines of communication. The arctic is another area where climate change enters the picture. You couldn't go to the arctic until very recently because it was covered by ice most of the time. But now you can drill for oil and gas. And these could potentially be a source of conflict in the future.
