How to Work With Newcomers in a Home Room Class
Entering students need to begin with basic vocabulary and survival scales. Quick tips for working with newcomers is to use pictures as much as you can. If you can have pictures that show the school, the school schedule or the routine, that will help them adjust to the environment quicker. A lot of the things that you might be doing in a third grade home room class for a newcomer is going to be very advanced and very hard to differentiate.
