The Progression of Social Emotional Learning

In 1980, a guy named Michael Oliver in Britain came up with what we call the social model of disability. Before that, there were two models of disability. The medical model would say some of that might land on the doctor or the doctor working with the individual to overcome this. So here we have society is making the illiterate marginal. Okay. What you're actually seeing, by the way, is the same progression that's happened in social emotional learning. And so this same hijack viral insertion or whatever from personal responsibility to collectivist framing is reproduced in both places.
