Schopenhauer was an antipode to the current age, a solitary figure who defined his own truths and demanded them without any concern for popularity or profit. In this sense, nicha's view of schopenhauer's life can be compared to nica's view of heraclitus. Both men were known for being solitary, not just in their way of life, but in their opinions. Heraclitus wrote that we know war is the father of all and strife is justice. Schopenhauer writes that the world is an endlessly striving will that's forever suffering. These were not popular representations of the world, and so they became two different aspects of the same timeless symbol
