How Deep Sea Mining Could Disrupt Marine Carbon Sinks
The ocean is considered one of the most stable carron pumps. It absorbs about nine billion tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Between two to six billion tons of that is then taken to the bottom of the ocean floor. Industry players have been very good at arguing that there will be lesser one set of mining on the sea floor would be better than the other. But i think we need to really consider a three dimensional scale of impacts of deep sea mining.
