I think pretty much every one expected that it would be a descendant of delta, that we'd start behaving like amicron and evading vaccines. But that didn't turn out to be the case at all. Omicron comes from a distinct branch of the sars cove to family tree. And people will be going back, i think, to sourcesf repositories, if they can find cousins and siblings armicran,. just to get some better understanding on its evolution.
