The Anatomy of Tape

Tape is really composed of two layers. The backing is what we call the tape, and then the second layer is the adhesive. This is kind of what's layered onto the backing. And there are all different types of adhesives but in the medical world, almost all of it is acrylate. So that's just a little bit about the composition of tape. 3M is really a leader when it comes to adhesives. They have not only their healthcare branch but they make adhesives for all sorts of things.
