The Myth of the Working Class

I was kind of struck, there's a lag between what the working class is and how in the popular consciousness it's kind of understood. I think we constantly carry out that confusion because in fact, it has an objective to it. We as you know socialist and people who are interested in the history of the working class have to do intellectual work all of the time sort of replicating what angles did in 1844. It seems to me that if we allow the referendum to hang over the category too powerfully one it makes it difficult to recognize other possible sites and forms of working class struggle that may be happening.
