Banana Workers in the U.S.
Starting in 19 83, thousands of banana workers filed cases in the united states. What they met with was a fierce resistance on the part of fruit and chemical corporations. In two thousand and seven a jury in california did hear a case and found that six nicaraguam workers had been made sterile by bc p. It seemed a landmark ruling, but it was overturned on appeal because the company successfully argued that the case had been marred by corruption. A chemicals said they did not want to contribute to this programme chiquita and delmonte did not respond to the b b c's inquiries for comment.
