What Happened After the War, the Stalinists?

The Soviet Union was very good at isolating itself from world reality in the 1920s and 1930s. In 1941, suddenly the Soviets are forced to come into contact with foreign countries because foreign countries are invading them. The self-defence of the Soviet Union then becomes under Stalin's careful and very skillful guidance the new ideological justification for the regime.
