Tolkien would weep at what the world has become. And if we understood better, what he understood, then we would weep too, I think. Because they've been corrupted by power. Tolkien understood the industrial minds that to reject all that in favor of a cold, scientific mindset That saw the world only as material to be manipulated for the sake of wielding and exercising and accumulating power.
