The Fed's Decision to Hike Rates in September
The Fed really had gone into this tightening cycle, thinking that there was almost a real time reaction function that the lags had shortened and they were wrong. I think actually the lags are much longer than the Fed actually thought. The transmission mechanism on monetary policy was blunted. That doesn't mean it doesn't eventually hit, but it has elongated the lags.
