The Inquisition and Witch Trials

Christianity later on conducted things like the Inquisition and witch trials, right? And put to death huge numbers of people who showed the capacities that they could have these sublime experiences. So in other words, they do believe it's still coming from somewhere else, but suddenly now they just go, but it's dark, it's not good, it's from the devil, right?
