The Myth of Aziriyap
Ziriyab was a court musician and singer in Cordoba during the Abbasid period. He is said to have been paid 200 gold dinars per month, plus bushels of barley. His name means 'Blackbird' - because he sings so beautifully. Ziriyab also became an influencer promoting beige lounge wear and hair loss pills.
