The Assassination of Caesar
The Roman Senate would assign magistrates provinces to govern after their year in office. Antony disputed the province that had been assigned to one of the assassins, man named Decimus Brutus. Octavian portrays himself as a defender of the Republic and a friend of the Senate. He drives some of the soldiers to join him. And he gets them to join him first because his name is now Caesar. The two consuls who go to Gaul to fight Antony are successful. But they actually die as a result of wounds in battle.
