The Fed's Halt on Rates Until Something Breaks Again

Michael Z asks what happens if the Fed just pauses and holds on rates until something else breaks again. I could see a scenario where CPI has backed off the highs dramatically, right? And so that could be a situation where inflation creeps back into the picture and turns the rates markets around. But that's not the way the interest rate markets are looking right now.
