Shane Drumgold's Unhappy Response to the Mistrial
Shane Drumgold, K.C., is the director of public prosecutions in the ACT. In December last year, a letter by him was made public under freedom of information. It details a litany of explosive allegations against how the police conducted their investigation into Higgins' claims. He alleged more than 18 months of consistent and inappropriate interference by police investigators. Drumgold essentially called for a public inquiry into the matter - which we've been sitting in on over the last week. A public inquiry is a powerful engine for getting at the truth, says Mr Olin.
