We Have to Rush Back to Ourself Like Fish to the Sea
Quakers fought against slaveholding and freed themselves from the institution of slavery. By 17 58, you couldn't be a quaker and have slaves. They were like they were so far their time, but they were grounded in silence before god. I love the desert father's saying of anthony the great: 'We must rush back to ourselves like fish to the sea' Ifif we are outside too much without pulling back for times of silence before the lord, we lose our peace with god. So whether it's two minutes or five minutes or ten minutes or 20 minutes or more, let me invite you to find your way in the practice of being still and silent before the lord.
