The Myth of the Old European World
In an ivory carving from Mycenaean Greece, 1,300 BC, we have two goddesses with a little male figure going from one to the other. It's the old double goddess, mother of life and mother of death. Poseidon is lord of the waters with the trident, the central point between the pairs of opposites. Shiva is the same god, his weapon is his trident and his animal is the bull. He represents the lingam, the divine energy pouring world creative power into the womb of the goddess.
