Episode CLXXIV - Boudicca
Emperors of Rome
'London's Not Worth Saving'
Tacitus tells us, to quote from chapter 33, the tearful lamentations of people begging his aid could not avert him from giving the signal to move out and taking only s able to accompany him. If you're not strong enough to march with the roman army, you're just left there for budica to come down and destroy. We don't get very much description of how this is done, really, which is kind of typical of ancient historiography. Dio does describe kind of the final battle a little bit, but we're just told us lots of slaughter.
