Data Bases - How Complex Can They Be?

A data base can handle many, many more data points than a spread sheet. As applications get more complex, so does the data that they need to gather and retrieve. Even computers don't instantly know where every bit of data is. One of the tricks data bases used to speed up retrieval is called indexing.
