Don Vito's Next Move After the War

Don Vito has plans for Pacino. They're going to send him to law school so he can become a senator. So the wedding happens in the summer, right? So law school eventually is going to be his move. He would have lost school a year from now. How long has he backed from the war? It's 46. Has he been at back for a year? This is not bringing up. I don't understand how long he's been back. My question was this guy was on this path to do something right when all the guys got back from World War II and started loafing around.
